Prop for Cad dd

I have a 13.6 Cottonmouth with a Cad. dd with a alum. intake and a 600 cmf. carb. I now have a FL. Airboat wide blade 72-38 prop that i can turn 3200 rpms. I was thinking of buying a terminator or a stump puller prop. The max dia. prop would be a 72 or 74 inch. Would there be mush difference in the two props and if so which would give me the best push for running ground?

I run a 74" Stump Puller from Whilwind. It pushes great. I know a guy with a bbc and belt reduction who used a Terminator on his boat (3 blade) and he had a bunch of problems with vibration. I don't know from experience on that one. I also ran a Sensenich 74" Q blade prop. I liked that one but my budget didn't allow for it. In my opinion the sump puller pushes like the q series but it is a lot louder. I got my prop from Airboatcapt02 (Faron from American Airboat) He treated my right and answered all the questions I had. He can get you any brand prop you want.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking that the stump puller might be the way to go. Dont want to buy a prop that wont do the job.

I ran a 74" Terminator 2 blade when I was direct drive Caddi and went everywhere I wanted to go. Excess "sound" was the only issue I had with the Terminator.

Thanks for your help. I think i will have to go check some of these props and see what looks like i might work for me. I can use a 72 or 74 inch with out any trouble. I was thinking that a larger prop with less pitch would give more push and only lose some top end speed. I want what will give low end punch. The 74 inch looks like it might do the trick.

Sensenich Q series will push and snap with the best of them, and it's quieter than other props.

I'd go with the 74"... if I could fit it into my cage I'd be running a 76". The whirlwind prop has a mark that is cast into the prop and then antoher mark about 1/4" past. I have it pitched to the 18 mark using the second line on the blade and can turn it 2600 rpm with a stock 500 caddy. My prop is the 74". I can go pretty much anywhere "I want" to. I don't run hills or anything out here. Just sandbars. I will do more testing with my setup and rpm using my new gps to find out where it cruises better as far as pitch and rpm. Right now I cruise pretty good at about 2100 rpm. If sound is an issue go with the Sensenich... I like my whirlwind but the Sensenich Q series in my mind is worth the extra money if for no other reason than the sound.
