Prop for Cadillac

What pitch and diameter would yall recommend for a stock 500 cadillac, I really want a composite prop but just dont have the cash rite now so I will have to go with wood until I win the lottery.

I also ran a 72 x 38 paddle prop on my stock caddy as well it worked good. Keep in mind if you get a new wood prop you will most likely be spending around $700 and you can get a composite for less than double that new and it will last longer and you can fine tune it to your engine and possibly use it if you add power to your stock engine where you might be buying a new wood prop if you bump up. Also if something goes thru your wood prop chances are good you will be ordering a complete new prop... on a composite they can usually be repaired or you can replace one blade at a time. For a new prop hit Faron up (Airboatcapt2). I'm very happy with the deal I got.

Thanks,

Dan

You should talk to person with the 74" Terminator. I switched to that same size Terminator when still direct drive it was great.

Most people I know run a 74" on a caddy. My neighbor was running a 74x36 wideblade and went to a 74" powershift signature and noticed alot quicker throttle response as well as a good deal more push.

I have a little time to think so I am just gathering insight. :? 489, 8.7/1, BBC DD, peanut ports, roller rockers, dual plane/600cfm,dp holley. built for torque, should be more than stock Caddy. NO2? 74" 6-8 warp drive, terminator, whirlwind, and scared of the other composite now, (ps,WD). I like the price of the two blade but should a three blade be a serious consideration and if so , keep the blade narrow? 8) Sorry about asking a question in addition to BFH's question but it might give him ideas and others also! I will give faron a call prior to purchase but appreciate your input. Thanks!

Airboatcapt2, Has some real good deals on WhirlWind. E-mailed him about one for mine the other day. Just talking the old lady into it may be another story for me though

I know what your saying, mine want's some renovation work in the basement done first and it seems everyone is trying to get me to go reduction :? . That would mean another! grand for the prop. :( plus the reduction. It is going to happen though! 8)

Champagne taste's on a Homemade beer budget!

I need to get with the Rick and hvae him take that Prop off. I sold it like in 2 days and I'm still getting calls on it.
Save your sell some money in the long run and get a compsite unless you can find a used wood prop and the upgrade later.
