I have angle valve 0540 and wondering what would be a good composite propeller for it. If I went with a warp drive what is the least number of blades i would need and length and so forth. Anyone that has this engine and a warp drive please post what you have.
NOTE: As a rule-of-thumb for airboats and hovercraft to determine how many propeller blades you will need for a given engine, allow one blade for every 50 hp of engine output based on at least a 72" diameter prop. Then, if you wish, add one additional blade so you can use a lower pitch setting for faster acceleration.

That is info from their web site. But I have seen guys run 5 blades too.
I would suggest a prop from wirl wind. PM Faron airboatcapt2 He'll give a great price on a prop.

72" narrow 3 blade sensenich works really well on most 0540's.I have also seen alot of guys run 72" signature series powershift 2 blade. Both props seem to do very good ,just a matter of preference. With a warp drive use at least a 72" 5 blade.

320 HP I AM RUNNING A FIVE BLADE AT 6 1/2 DEGREE , I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A 6 BLADE BUT LOVE MY FIVE BLADE!!! 0 TO 70 IN NO TIME!!!

IF YOUR LOOKING TO BE THE QUITE ONE!!! DON'T GET A WARP DRIVE.

GET THE Q SERIES LIKE EVERY BODY ELSE GETS!!!! IF YOU WANT TO BE LIKE ALL OF THE EVERY BODY ELSE!!!

ITS THE BEST !!! PERFORMING PROP OUT THERRE!!

I have an angle valve IO540 , I had a 5 blade 72 warp drive for 2 yrs, I upgraded to a 6 blade, loved it, I read all the hype for the powershift, so I tried one, Was a p-iece of crap, made more noise and less push. I was lucky to sell it and only lose a few hundred, Give me a call 8508300983 for any more info. Warp drives do make some noise, powershift make as much or more just a lower tone, mabe because they turn up so slow..

My friend wants to sell his, he has 6 blades in really good shape, 5 and 6 blade hubs and also a 6 blade "Bowtie" hub. It is a 70". He wants 1,200.

My friend just got rid of his 8 blade wd and bought a 2 blade q series runs dry better not as smooth of a run you can tell it a two blade instead of 8.
It is allot quieter big difference it doesn't have that high windy pitching sound. He likes it better

i had a warp drive 6 blade 70in ran like a scolded dog for 4hundred feet but no a-- after that. still i think its a good prop, i switched to the Q the warp just didn't have the push the Q has. i wouldn't go under 6 blade 70in pitch you can set on your boat

PM me if you are interested in my buddy's prop, if I help him sell it, he's gonna help me put Frog Spit on my hull :D
