prop question

I bought a used airgator with a 454 belt drive 2:1. It has a new stump puller 3 blade that Faroninstalled for me. The indicators are set at 17 degrees? What is the maximum thrust rpm for me? I almost got stuck the other day, newbie ran dry fine, but I made the mistake of stopping on a clump of marsh grass to take a leak, almost did not get going again. Wouldlike to know best thrust without just flooring it.

Ideas? Suggestions?

thanks

If ya got a sprayer, spray where your going to stop as you come up on it. If not try to start the boat off with full rudder in one or the other direction then center them as it gets moving. May even have to spin the boat and come out of the spin in the direction you want to leave out in.

Can't help in the thrust calculation for ya, but sometimes its not about thrust its about technique.

Anyway, hope the tip helps some.

Scotty

I run a 2-blade stump puller and Whirlwind told me they like to run at around 2700 (prop) rpm. I run mine at 2600 wide open. but I run direct drive. Whirlwind is great for customer service you could give them a call and ask.
