Prop Question

I am looking at props for my corvair powered project. I have spoken to Arrowprop and they have one that I believe is 66" or 68" which is what they recommended. I am wondering if I could use a 2 blade Warp Drive with this engine and benefit from it being adjustable?? I am estimating the HP at about 100. Probably not more than that...Any suggestions from those that have run a corvair engine??? Thanks..Fred in SC

Hey Fred
Its good to see you posting again
the corvair boat that mike and i biult had a 68" 3 blade warp drive started with 7 degree's of pitch but i think we ended up at 9 degrees
good prop
good luck

A warpdrive would be louder than a wood prop. something to consider if you will be running ware there are homes... If you can find an IVO two blade they are good for up to 100hp and also do a good job on this type of airboat. But Mosquito airboat i think are the leader in the small airboat design so take what they say in consideration as I do not think they will steer you wrong.
Just my 2cents worth.

Carpshooter...what kind of prop hub did you guys use?? The warp drive has it's own hub doesn't it? Can it bolt right up to the crank or do you have to use a hub in between? I didn't think about the noise issue. VERY few if any airboats around here so I can see the complaints now!!

Fred
Mike called warp drive and they set him up the hub they supplied bolted right up to the flywheel and crank
yes this prop is noisy not bad when cruising
i'll see if i can find mike's phone number and pm you later tonight
and that way you could talk to mike he did all the Assembly of the engine
