Prop shroud

bravo1218

Silent Prop
R. I. P.
I remember a few months back someone put a sheet metal shroud around the hoops on the cage. I am interested in finding out about that. I am going to replace my cage soon and might like to incorparate that on my boat.
Tim

country141iq had one he might have pics of it in his gallery or someone does. and there is an old thread on here with pics of different boats with some shrouds.hope this helps.

Shrouds help with side transmission of the sound .. however I didn't have a bottom part to mine so the sound all ended up in my aluminum hull and made it louder on my boat ... however all who were off the boat said ... geez that thing is quiet. Of course I couldn't hear what they said but I got good at reading lips after all I am a republican. although after this bush league president is done I may be a democrat.

Hey! I was thinking, or actually just poured another glass of wine, anyways! I don't know what this would do as far as sound? perhaps even magnify it but if you had a shroud, solid duct, somewhat cone shaped, smaller at the front however still larger diameter than the prop and getting a little larger towards the back, would it not have the tendancies should a prop blow apart to send shrapnell away from the ocupants of the boat? 8)

Cold, don't take this personally but most Americans don't think Canada has been any more of an ally to this Country than France.
I really don't need a Canadian perspectve.

BF

I'll take Canada over France ANYDAY ! What I have seen of it Canada has payed attention to some of the things we havent. Glad they are our neighbor to the North. I wish we had one just like them to the South.

I thought I had a photo of your boat Cntry - I could not find it. Sorry.

I did find this one in the gallery - Just posted by Airboat4fun I think from the Palm beach show.

I'll bet this could be one QUIET airboat!!!! With the motor half in the bilge, the only issue I see is that the exhaust is turned up, and is open headers. But if they flipped it around and made the ENTIRE exhaust system be inside the deckover, man! that'd be a quiet boat!!! Even the longbelt has covering over it to contain that rattle. It looks like stacked IVO props. Cool stuff.

matt.

Hey B.F. I wasn't making a political statement, I was commenting on someones sense of humour!

I know Cold. I apologize.

It's just that GW is the first president since Reagan to try to govern this Country on Christian principles. I don't agree with everything he does, but I don't have a doubt in my mind that he's doin' the best he can.
I think he deserves our prayers, not our criticism.

BF

Hey BF I resemble that fact LOL. As for GW well he does need our prayers and our criticism both that is what makes this AMERICA. He is no longer my boss as I have no ties to the military anymore.

He did good by going to afghanistan after al-quieda. He did bad by going to iraq after sadam he was just trying to finish what his dad had enough sense to stay away from. He has got us into a real pickle on that one and now he wants to go after iran GEEZ.

I wouldn't mind it if we were just calling it a construction project and were using nukes to create a great inland sea upon the shores of which we could build condo's and move the geographically challenged residents of florida to. However he is causing loss of lives over there and giving away security of our ports here at home. THANK GOD the rest of the republicans had the senses to stand up to his stupidity and get the deal stopped.

I am not alone in this opinion if you just check any national poll you want to you can't find one in which his approval rating is even at 50% on practically any subject. I put in the practically just in case he was in favor of the flat tax or something of equal common sense.

Now please don't take any of this as a personal attack on you or the president. This is AMERICA and I did my part to insure that disagreeing with the president or anyone else is ok. I don't hold grudges and I agree that we can agree to disagree with each other. BILL CLINTON was a better republican than gw. Gw only got elected because of who he was running against wow that was a tough choice to make there, and got re-elected because of the old opinion that you never change presidents during time of war, even if it is an unpopular war started based on lies and inuendos and imagined threats to AMERICA. Now if we go screwin with IRAN we are gonna have a real threat on our hands because clearly then it will appear that we are taking on the muslim religion/world as an enemy.

and in closing ... a young man in McDonalds said ...I have a degree in liberal arts ... do you want fries with that

Cntry, I'll agree to disagree on a couple of things ........ now, I need another beer. You ready yet?

BF

Mood, Airboat4fun,

That is one cool deckover!

I bet it would be stealthy if it had some sort of exhaut muffling!

Hey Clinton was in our city last night doing a dinner thing! 8) we'll pray for G.W. if you pray for our new leader!

Being a fiscal conservative and a social liberal and staunchly LIBERTARIAN I find some good in some of it, a lot of bad in most of it, and Iced Tea is my drink of choice. I'd fire the whole lot of neocons in a heartbeat. They represent very few of my conservative values. I certainly will not support any jack booted fear mongering with my prayers nor votes.

I am in the thick of it and support our troops daily over here in theater. I too (in hind sight) think Clinton better than the Shrub, but I sure loved my Slick Willie jokes ! Still do as a matter of fact.

A bonesman by any other name........... has the same stench !

Hey Scotty, are you anywhere close to the Tim Hortons they are putting up in the Canadian Camp? Not bad coffee (not strong enough for me though) and good doenuts, muffins and sandwich, soup. Little taste of home for the boys!

Ill find out tonight. I dont live on base just work there. I'll check around and ask if they are in the Coalition area or in their own area. Dont see much except my little area over there.

Scotty

UM! when I mentioned a little taste of home for the boys, I also needed to mention you ladies also. Just an old saying that isn't in keeping with the times!

Heck we now have hit almost all of the hot buttons politics, religion, women, and favorite vehicles. Good thing we are on the net, otherwise we would be all drinking a few beers and enjoying ourselves, then drinking a few and discussion serious matters, then having to drink a couple to cool down, and then the real serious stuff would start as a pressure relief valve or several would pop. LOL

Yep, we need to pray for all the leaders and the future ones. Probably do some real serious praying for them and especially hard and regular for those that are serving this great nation.

I always figured this nation is stronger than any elected offical.

I wouldn't want that #1 job for anything. And I have not agreed with more than 70% with a president since Carter to office. Was too young to pay attention before that.

Cold - and don't worry about that remark. Most the country gals realize that no slight was intended and none will be taken. Ignore the rest.
