Prop Size?????

I figured maybe you guys know what prop I need. I have a 4 blade narrow 80 inch on about 4 1/2. Its past the 3 mark and around the (F) where the prop says flat head screws. I called Sensenich and they can't believe a 540 can turn a prop that hard. I turn it about 2600 on 7 lbs of boost and 3300 plus when I ran it up to 14 lbs. It seems like it is too much prop on the bottom before the turbos take over and not enough on the top. Would the wider "Q" series blades work any better. If I could pitch them around 3, I should increase bottom end performance and hopefully the wider blades will put a heavier load on the turbos. Any suggestions?

sounds like a plan to me talk to ptr maybe hell let ya try that set up i seen him bolt one on a guys boat couple of weeks ago just to show him what he was missin i dont think the guy would give em back to him :D

glad to see ya postin gary i know ya dont know me but i used to come to your shop bout every mo. when my youngin was runnin a 4 cyl licombing boat i give him he could damn sure toast a jug or two , you were allways helpful and fair with your parts you even tore a jug off a complete motor to make me happy :)

i would try a 3 or 4 blade 74 in q series. you will probaly still will have some lag till the turbos come online.

the shorter prop should snap harder and the wider blade should pull it down more on the top.
