prop suggestion

Just bought my first boat and wanted some more opinions on what prop i should go with. its an 11'x 7' aluminum 3\4 deck w\ a lyco 0-290d2b 135-140 hp. previous owner had 70\24 wood stick on her and said she ran good,

66LML34 or 66LML34 is the prop to run on an 0-320 150/160 horse. For an 0-290 you would need around a 66LML30 0r 32. As far as composite props you would do good with a 64 or 66 inch 4 blade Warp Drive

I also have the same motor was running a 68-34 at about 2700 rpm. I was wondering if a sensenich carbon fiber prop at 66" would work well? Just a thought. Trying to get new prop ideas.

yep l like the tune ability of carbon fiber but just don't know which prop to get. I have a 3 blade IVO, great prop in the water, not much push on the hill. Tried a warp drive, better but not as good as my wood prop. Had problems with both when you tried to add pitch you lost a lot of engine rpm's. Probally why I lost push.

You know I have seen one prop maker have their prop turn 200 rpm more than the other prop on the same motor. So when you say a certain pitch which prop are you talkin about?

well with the IVO prop you can adjust the pitch on the ground by it really has no marks like the warp drive. Also the warp drive I did not give it a lot of time with the set up. I was trying it pretty fast just to see if it could help. I should have given it more time to tune it better. I forget what degree I had it set at.

Hey gmcjohnny I emailed Water Walter this morning and they said that it may work but that their props are rated for 150-200 hp for the 66' prop. (However, it usually takes about 150 HP at 2900 RPM to best use the 2Blade Cypress 66". You would probably have to back off the pitch a bit more than the recommended lower limit of 4 degrees, at which point the tips begin to "go negative".) This is directly from their email that they sent to me. They also said the their prop has the most adgressive pitch distrudution out their. Just figured I would let you know because I am also in the prop hunt with ya. Good luck!

Anybody have any pics of a narrow sensenich (h-blade) on motor or just prop. Read through some old posts and found that 68'' works well

i had a 6634 on a wore out 125 spun it 2750 (on a good day) and it still pushed a lot better on the hill than the 66" 4-blade warp drive even thought about at 3000. But the warp drive was great on water, so it depends what you want. If you got to Fl airprops website they have a chart for engine-prop size that should be real close.
