Prop?

Just wondering if I am going to hurt my c-125 by running to small of a prop on it? It calls for a 66x38 and am thinking about running the prop I already have (60x34). Any info would be great. Thanks again for any more answers to my stupid questions.
 
The only stupid question is the one that didn't get asked.

You are talking about a LOT of difference in those two props. You will have the ability to over rev the engine really easily and likely without thinking about it. Likely you will first damage the prop but the motor, depending on condition, could let go on ya just as easily.

I'd recommend going with the recommended prop and not try to save on using the wrong equipment. It could cost ya a LOT more in the long run.

im asuming these are stick props . agood rule of thumb 1 inch +or- on lengh 1 degree pitch . the shorter the prop the quicker to max rpm the smaller prop will go supersonic DANGER ZONE!!!! good advice wb
 
Yeah a 66X38 is kinda on the big side for 125. What you can do in a pinch is put a govener on your foot pedal so that you won't turn more than 3150 or so. Then see if it will plane on the water if so then your set for awhile till you get a bigger prop.
 
3150 rpm? The rmp rating on the engine tag is 2550. As far as the 66x38 I was just going on what sensnich had on their web page for a c-125. I am kind of new to the airboat world and am just going on what I can find on the web. Their is not alot of info on airboats where I am at. Is the 66x32 a paddle or a stick prop? And does anybody have a 66 prop their willing to get rid of? Thanks again for all of the help.
 
Bandkiller you wont go wrong by running anything Sensenich recommends. Thay been at this a long time.
