Prop

Can anybody tell me if a 72" IVO 3 blade prop will work on a direct drive 350, 14'x 8' fiberglass hull. Currently running 72 x 32 wood paddle prop,
turning 2650 rpm. Which would be better? Will I like the adjustable prop?

Dear George,
You would love a composite adjustible prop but I doubt that it would be an improvment from what you have.I have not had great luck with the Ivo Check out Whirl Wind or a Powershift or Sensenich.
Good Luck,
Faron

Howdy George--- I'd just as soon have wood on a direct drive; however, I think the composite would be safer and more maintenance free. The optimum rpm on a direct drive is 2750---you're close---I think a 72-38 is the recommended prop for your boat ---but I'd talk to the mfg. before I made that kind of investment.

Happy Trails,
Harvey

I had a driect drive 350 had a 72-34 wood prop spining 3000 ran great had good push. a couple of friends that went to a 2 blade power shift and they said it made a big diffrence

Has anyone run a whilwind stump puller 3 blade,to see if it pushs as well has a power shift 3 blade power plus. Been told that the whilwind pushs harder.
