Does anyone know where a shooting range close to Sarasota (west coast)?

Closest I have found for rifles is punta gorda.

This is a good range located at Myakka City.
Manatee Gun Club: Located at 1805 Logue Road, Myakka City, FL 34251. Situated in eastern Manatee County, the directions to the range are: From I-75 take exit 42 East (State Road 64). Proceed twenty two miles to Logue Road. Turn left, go north 1.2 miles to the entrance on the left. Amenities: club house with snacks, and shooting accessories, 25-50 yard pistol range, 100-500 yard rifle range, any size rifle or pistol allowed.

Hey Mr. Hair. I am a member of Sarasota Trap and Skeet Club off Laurel Rd. in Nokomis,(south Sarasota). It is a great club for shotgunners. We have 3 trap fields, 3 skeet fields, a wobble trap,5-stand field and a 12 station sporting clays course. Super people and great facility that is a Sarasota Parks and Recreation park. Next door is a pistol and rifle range. Very nice facility that is open most days. They have a 100yd. rifle range for big rifles. The trap club is open wed. from 1PM to 8:30PM and sat. and sun. 9:30am to 3:30 pm in the summer with additional hours in the winter.I am from Palmetto and try to go at least once a week. It is a 30 min drive from me. If you want to go sometime mail me and we can try to arrange. Happy shooting!!! P.S. You do not have to join the club to shoot, its just a little cheaper if you join.

Underpressure, it's been years since I had a chance to shoot trap and skeet, and I love to.

Does your club have special shoots / events? Are they open to non-members? We're miles from you but my bride and I have been thinkin about a couple week trip South after hurricane season passes and might be able to get by some evening. 8)

Yeah wildhair the only place I know that you can shoot rifles is Cecil Web. In Punta Gorda

Hey Mr. Art, You all are all welcome anytime. We do have ATA registered shoots at least once a month and occasionally have special shoots. I will check with the pres and see whats up his sleeve. It is a blast shooting so many different targets. I got started just training for duck season and found its a lot of fun. We had 5 deer 40 yards from the firing line yesterday. The range master shot about 10 clays at them so they would move and a doe walked over and smelled them!! They shot over them and they never even looked up. Finally someone drove out there on the golf cart and they ran. Apparently golfers are dangerous :twisted: !!!!!!!!!! Let me know when your ready
