question about frog spit or slick bottom

My last boat had poly on it and had no problem running the ground even in the middle of the heat but my question is I am thinking about going with frog spit or something like it but am not sure what to expect out of it as far as how long will i get out of it before i have to put it back on I mean i just like the idea of not drilling holes in the new hull. I will not have to worry about stepping on a bolt with bare feet if i dont witch is good but how long does this stuff last if you run the pasters and stuff. would only be running the ground where it would be just grass pasters not running gravel or anything like that. I was just hoping to maybe get 6 months out of it and if i could then i would consider it being i would only have to do it twice a year but if i have to do it every 3 months or less I am going back with poly.....Any info on this from you guys that run slick bottom or whatever would be great thanks.

Make sure you have it put on right and you will love it. for the kind of ridding your talking about. It's the only way to go. and you can run some ruff stuff.

the problem with frog spit is that you have to reapply it...mine started chipping off very quickly (i was running alot of iron wood). if you're willing to reapply it every 6 months or year, go for it. it was too much time, effort, and money for me to reapply that often. i'm still running with it....well, what's left of it.

I also have a question, I have a alumn deck over, should I run steel flex or frog spit, or something else, thanks

i just had mine done steelflex first then 4 gallons owl slick i swear if i shut down on a incline it slides off guy named smith on hatchnaha rd did it took my boat apart sprayed it .cheap and done right

about 3 good trips still slick its the first boat ive had it on im having to ajust my old poly ways its like differant terrain than poly it likes green stuff totaly opposite to poly

i just had mine re done with regular steel flex then slick bottom on top and it sure runs good you just have to apply it right and were you run and 6 months won't be a problem.

I'm thinking about it myself I don't run a lot of dry ground and I'm going to be getting a new fiberglass hull here shortly, my old hull had poly, it should last me quite a while how hard is it to put on

my steel flex 2000 has been on my hull for 3 years now it is scared up but still there.i don't do crazy driving and dont run rough terrain just pasture land type ground.but it adds no structural support to a fiberglass hull.i ran up waysong damm and a piece of brocken block popped up and splinterd the inside of my hull.

Plumcrazy, where did you get it done, plan on pulling boat apart for new paint, maybe I could just have bottom done so it is done right, thanks, Lee

The guy Plum is talking about is James Smith. He does live off of Hatchieneha Rd. in Haines City. He is an awesome guy and will deffinitly do you right. His number is 863-581-0695. I have the same stuff on my boat and have run a lot of dry gound and still have a lot left on it. Good stuff and a great guy.

talked to mr smith today, great guy, plan on letting him do my bottom, just got to tear it apart, thanks for all the help

What is he charging you to put it on I'm going to have Bobby Jones Sr. build me a new cotton mouth and he is right there in Haines City, I will let him do mine
