My PE 90 blew apart first aircraft GPU I ever put together must have done something wrong it only lasted 11 hours. cracked the case , damaged two jugs and cranks shaft so I have been looking for another motor I was a little under powered with the pe 90motor and have come accross a 520 continental withGitsu cylinders. crank and cam work done on the motor. Anyone have an opinion on this motor the only thing Ihave heard is that the gitsu cyiders are expensive if something goes wrong
thanks
eric

not that much more. good thing about gtsio are you can use a automotive carb real easy.

It will be plenty strong .Gitsu cylinders are good cyl. you will like the change or power just make sure the motor is sound

The GTSIO head is Continentals heavy duty head. The casting thickness around the combustion chamber is a lot thicker than a normal 520 head. The downside is that there isn't a large selection of 18mm sparkplugs that are long enough to reach into the combustion chamber(To the best of my knowledge there is only one that has the appropriate heat range) . I have inserts that allow the use of long reach 14mm plugs. Make sure that they have stock GTSIO rocker arms and pins. These can be hard to find and some folks don't mind breakin' it off in ya'-I had one guy try to charge me $50.00 apiece for a set! I would prefer them over conventional 520 heads.
