race boats

Last race I attended in Felda, ground rattler was the fastest boat, as well as a red Hoffman boat(name unknown).......is their any new boats out there running quicker than these guys?

If there was a consistent place to run them we would have more interest in building one. Everybody feels the same way. It is so unorganized that we get frustrated. That last race in Felda was over a year ago. And when there is a race everybody runs around not knowing anything. If we could have Saturday night races under the lights everybody would go. And a lot of money could be raised. The only difference in the races today versus the races 20 years ago is the starting light. It used to be a rolling start with a flagman. They raced drags and circle track. I have my dads old circle track boat ,YES the real racers used to race laps in marked off circle. That was some cool racing. Now a few hunderd feet is boring. They would drag Race the Kamakazi and circle race the Sleeper. We need races before we need race boats. That Hoffman supercharged boat is not much to look at,but it is bad.

Mike,
whatever happened at Felda? That was such a good place to hold an event then BAM gone. I used to know Richard Roberton one of the kids in the family who owned the land. I heard they were fighting about this and that, then heard they had some REAL trouble out there?Never found out what really happened.

Mike what ever happened to the Kamakazi ,heard it was on the east coast somewhere.

Rich last I heard it was a control problem between two family members ,rumor has it theres a new sports park in the making in felda area .

Yeah,
I can believe that. When Richard had the idea, the rest of his family thought he was nuts. Then when the $$$$$$$$ started rollin in, the rest of the family wanted in! Guess greed got the best of that deal. Too bad, it was a top notch place and it had a big draw.

Just how fast can these airboats run? as I'm clueless here in Bama. I wouldn't know a fast one if I saw it . Their are bass boats that will top 100 mph, but no airboats to watch on lake Martin!

If anybody knows where the Kamakazi Race boat is I want buy it. Not to race but just to have a piece of the airboat race history back. I have gotten my dads circle track boat back and I want the drag boat.

I personally know the owner his name is Robert and he lives in Cocoa Florida I will P.M. you his phone number. The airbrush still looks good and he does want to sell it and I believe it's on the original trailer.

Awesome!
That's a killer exchange right there!

Get that Kamakazi boat back Mike.

Bring it on home.

That boat is a legend from when they use to race insanely far distances. I loved the theme and paint scheme of that boat I came close to buying it for a 180 Lycoming motor a few years back.

Cool man!
I'd like to see some pictures of it someday.
I'm just a sucker for somebody running down something that means more to them than just the sum of it's parts.

I hear ya on that 180.
Maybe someday I'll be able to consider picking up a 30+ year old charity case of a boat, just cause has thunder rocker covers on it!

I'll never say I'll never have an auto engined boat.
Heck my first boat was an auto boat. Aircooled Corvair though. :D

Anyway,
Hope your able to get Mike hooked up with that boat.

Later man
