I'm not going to labor this point, but for you guys to continue to complain that you are being singled out and picked on by the man is going to cause me and everyone else with airboats to have to plant flowers in them.

The law does not say people racing do not need all safety equipment. It says all boats. I have been airboating for over 40 years and have never had a bad encounter with FWC, or any other law enforcement agency.

Get legal, be polite, and be courteous to everyone on the water or the yankee's are going to win. If they haven't already.

So the next time little Earnhart hit's the wall he should get a ticket for careless driving. I'm talking about a sanctioned race at a race track that was overseen by the local sheriffs department. Why did FWC have to step in that's what the sheriffs were for. Never mind anyway I made my decision late last night I'm selling may race boat and maybe even my ride boat I work 6 day's a week pay all my taxes and live the straight and narrow while I see serious crimes and confrontations on my own street where my neighbors are regularly threatened with deadly force and these instances draw less law enforcement. We no longer can run the Banana river because of all the wake zones and now the St. Johns because of all hassle. Everyone needs to kiss their airboat good bye. I was born here and lived my entire life here in Brevard County. I have seen every one of my out door activities turned into a crime. Because some new resident doesn't like what I do well nothing I do has ever hurt anybody but myself. Florida is all about realestate now so get use to not being able to enjoy the out doors. I'm sick of it.

Thunder,
I hope you really aren't going to give up! I can't comprehend the amount of hassle you FL guys get as we in LA get no grief. I have owned my boat for a year now so I haven't had the exposure you've had. I think you guys need to stick together and stay organized as it is easy to divide and conquer. This is the very reason I'm trying to get a LA Airboat Assn. formed to possibly head off any future problems. I have read alot of the post you guys have written about the noise issues, etc. and I think you're right, it all boils down to more people wanting to live on the water and assuming that high property taxes equate to getting anything they want.

So please hang in there, if you leave the sport Florida losses a piece of it's heritage that goes back a long ways!

One good thing about south Louisiana is most snow birds don't care anything about living there.

Guest, Texas Gulf Coast,
I guess you're right about the snow birds, darn! Let's see we have great fishing, both inshore and offshore, duck hunting, crawfish, world class food, and unsurpassed hospitality, Go figure!

Please don't make that public knowledge or it will get ruined also. I may just have to move there because I’ve about had it with Florida the “Q-TIP state. I was going to move to New York city when I retire because there can’t possibly be anybody left up there.

Waterthunder,

I agree! There can't be anyone left in New York,Ohio, Michigan, Illinois or New Jersey! Wish they would leave us born SOUTHERNERS alone! I'll never give up until they pry the (you know the rest)!

My grandfather first rode me on the airboat in 1963!

I'll never give up just yell the "rebel yell" a little louder!

Jeff

Waterthunder,

May I suggest something.

Florida has a law that clearly states no one can intefere with lawful activities on navigable waters.

Have you filed a formal written complaint with FWC about the individual you state threatens you with weapons. If you do so and request a complaint number, they have to respond. If they don't, call FWC HdQrtrs in Tally.

I'll bet you get results. I am involved in a similar case over catching live fish bait - of all things - and the Tampa FWC has been very responsive.
