RADIATOR MOUNTED UP HIGH

HAS ANYONE MOUNTED THEIR RADIATOR ABOVE THE ENGINE SO THE WATER PUMP DIDNT HAVE TO WORK SO HARD??? ARE THEY ANY DISADVANTAGES TO DOING THIS??

A few people I know have but that area of the prop see's very clean air I wouldn't block it. I have built and owned ton's of car motor airboats and have NEVER had a cooling problem accept with race stuff. All you need to do it properly plumb and design your cooling system!

THUNDER THANKS!! i DONT HAVE A SEALED EXPANSION TANK AND THE WATER KEEPS BACKING UP INTO MY OVERFLOW RESERVOIR AND BLOWING THE CAP OFF AND LOSES ENOUGH WATER AND EVENTUALLY GETS VAPOR LOCKED. OTHERWISE IM RUNNING AROUND 170 DEGREES. NOT TO MENTION THE HOT WATER BURNING THE BABIES GETTING DOWN FROM OVERFLOWING.

You must run a burp tank. I have debated this with a hundred people. Out of a hundred cooling systems and radiators maybe only one doesn't need a burp tank. I have honestly seen at least 20 people blow up good motors because they thought they didn't need an expansion tank! They do more then control the water from expansion which you are already experiencing!
