rain

Hole in the wall looked wet last weekend but I didn't run it to spade.

Looked like lightning strikes burnt some acreage down by 3 forks almost to the gauge'n station trail.

Nice rains in NE Florida the last three days ..... hope Orange/ Lockloosa has been gettin some of it.

How's it look where you are, Dwarf?

Last night I attended a meeting of the TOOFAR org. where Dave Moore of SWFWMD gave a presentation. One of the questions asked was "why aren't the rivers flowing since we are getting rain almost every day?". He responded with " the ground in FL. resembles a sponge, and until the sponge is full it won't start to release it or let it sheet (runoff) down the rivers or fill the lakes".
Easy to understand.
It is raining right now at my house and has almost everyday but the canal and the lakes stay very low. The marsh is dry in most spots. The best riding is right after a rain  .
We now pick our route by vegetation. Stay out of the pretty but sticky flowery stuff.

Maybe Ernesto can do somethig next week.

Deltona's bad dry.

August is supposed to be the wettest month averaging 7.23". As of yesterday (August 24) the Weather Channel is reporting 0.72" month to date.

The river has came up some in the past week or so though, so I know somebody's getting a little....rain that is. :)

Rick,
Don't ya miss those little rainshowers we used to get every afternoon around 3 o'clock ? A nice little shower, then the sun would come out and we were good to go until the next day.

I have no idea why that stopped.

Nothing’s easy to understand about the SFWMD. Sounds if he was just reading from a cue card. West palm's been getting rain almost every day and today they decided to open the locks and when I say open the locks they are completely out of the water. Plus one other thing there’s a gas station being built locally that has 100 well points and 2 4" discharges going and they still can't keep the water out of the hole for the new tanks.
P.S. In the end Mother Nature will prevail. :D
Remember this is my .02 cents and is opinions expressed by me, even know its right and you might not agree with it.

:D :D :D

it has rained here every afternoon for the last 3 days. Not sure if it even made a dent in anything because we are boatless and let me just say, I am having airboat withdraws. Don't think we are going to go out this weekend.

About 10yrs. ago they built a park and boat ramp at the end of malabar
rd. and said they would flood the marsh. one of the guys on the job
said they were talking about running the tillman canal west into the
st. johns marsh, and using the turkey creek locks only for emergency
flood control. This was said to be a 3 yr. project. Did any one else
ever hear such a thing, or maybe I was just dreaming.

10 - 12 inches in southern Highlands county and the water is everywhere. I won't need a trailer for my boat over the next few days.
