Is there a general rule of thumb on airboat hulls as far as when the bow rise should start compared to the overall length of the boat. My current boat is 13'6" long and my bow rake starts 5 1/2 ft. back from the front of the boat. I'm gonna shorten my boat to 12'6" overall length and am wondering about where to start the rake ie 4 1/2 or 5' back from the bow. I'm trying to get more boat off the water (more rake) when on plane but I don't want to over do it.
