I would just like to say what an incredable job Tommy and all the other guy's did at Diamondback did in putting the new drive system in my Airboat for me in two days they compleatly pulled my boat apart built me a new engine stand that was just right for the New LS 6 engine that Watherthunder built for me and put the boat all back together by late Friday afternoon and ready to go and Boby and Fran made sure that it got done, everbody involved with the project really busted there butt to make it happen and being since they had never done a conversion like this before I think they did an amazing job and the boat was just about perfect and then I went down to Waterthunders shop and finished Dialing it all in and he has been awesome thru the whole process of answering all the questions we had about the instalation and the helping me put the finishing touches on my boat and it is now every thing that he said it would be I have an 500+ hp LS 6 that is lighter than a 6 cyclinder Aircraft engine with the 2.68 gearbox that runs on Pump gas and is swinging the new Q series ultrawide prop and is much quieter than it used to be get's better fuel milage and has a better cruse speed at less RPM.

Yes I will do it tomarrow and I have other picture I took down there at Loughmans lodge that I will post also

I'm so glad we were able to adjust the hull to the new motor it actually came around allot easier then I expected. I really enjoy what I do when the whole combination comes together and when I saw the smile on your face the first time you took off on a plane. That was cool, most people don't realize when you start putting allot of thrust on a airboat everything changes and that is the main reasons most large car motor boats don't run very well. Because 90% of all airboat hulls and riggings are base on designs that were intended for air craft power. We will just keep playing with your prop now until the boat run's the best for your needs. Hey Sniper if ya don't mind I also need some pic's of your boat to post on my new site!

Thunder I will have some posted tomarrow thanks for all your help and let me know when the new ignition box comes in so I can hook my tac up

Any of you all that want to see my boat with the new engine and gearbox and prop I just posted the pictures of it in my picture gallery I for got how to post them on the forum may be somebody who knows how to will but there up if you want to see it with all the new Drive system.

Nice looking rig. If 500+ isn't enough for a 3 blad what does it take to turn the 3 blade version? Just curious. Keep us informed how it performes with the 2-blade setup. Again good looking setup!

I went with the two blade set up on WaterThunders advice he felt that the boat would have a better snap to it with a two blade and thats what I need doing Search & Rescue he ran the same set up on his race boat so far I am very pleased with the set up

I was just curious. Right now my dream is to eventually run a big block with 2.68 and the ultra wide q series. It will probably be a few years before I can get into something like that but it would be nice.

I wonder if you will have any of the harmonics problems they all have been talking about with 2 blade setups in composite props.

Keep us informed.

Dan

I have been running a two blade powershift for two years and put 126 hours on that set up with no problems at all other that it was very loud and thats why I went to the new prop and gear box to make the boat quiter

You can easily stick a 3 blade or even a 4 blade on one of these LS1's and it will swing it. However as I always state it depends on what you want your boat to do best. Ask Sniper how much more his boat rolled at first we had to play with that a bit to get her right. If he ran a three blade it would be allot worse actually it would be dangerous. This is one of them cases where even though something may make more thrust it isn't the best way to go. Even if the three and two blade made the same thrust the 2 blade is better for Sniper. Several other factors besides horsepower come into play on deciding how many blades you want to run.

I was just nervous because on my direct drive engines I run 2 blade composites on both. 2nd season on one and 1st on the other. I'm sure that I aint the only one who dreams of running a Thunder setup boat. Good work on Snipers boat (everyone involved) you can really see how wide those blades are in the one picture. Definately a sweet set up.

Way to go Wingman! You've got a great setup there, Waterthunder did a fantastic job.. Looks like I'll have my work cut out fore me if we ever race down Canal Blvd. in New Orleans again......

Just remeber, Rats eat Mice for snacks. :D :D (but somtimes they do produce heartburn..)

Oh Boy now I feel like Waterthunder now we are Racing Rescue Boats Wingman the boat preforms fantastic it is a lot Quiter and it has unbeleavable power and it runs dry ground like nothing and I don't even have to get a running start or shake my rudder to load it on the trailer now I just bump the throttel and its up there and best of all it almost 300 lbs lighter and it almost dubbled my fuel milage that means I can stay out longer looking for folks and not have to refuel so often you might want to look in to one of these motors.
