I put some photos from today's ride on members gallery so my Southern brothers could take a look and think "What the @&#%? " They are a different use of an Airboat .

Ya it does! More on the top that I could ever need on snow . It has a slight bog when I hit the throttle at times . This might be the Florida gasoline at sub 0 . I'll find out after I burn the tank empty and get a load with the winter additives . I went up rivers . over bridges , up beaches, up hills, over cat tail swamps, down forest roads ,over lakes . It was great ! It can do a dough nut without moving one foot forword in snow .

I don't think it just inertia of the prop . It actaully goes to sleep on me and I have to wake it up again with the accelerator pump.

well tell us what carb you have and we can go to work on it for you. does it do it once it it warmed up or does it warm up? between carb mods a timing thermostat should be able to make it responsive.

The thermostat might be it . There is a 160 in it but the gauge sits at 100 or slightly over. A 190 might help raise the operating temp .

#1 pitch would go out the window because of the temp of the air. Air going past the block is pretty much enough of a cooling system. 58 below last week with wind chill! Did you notice any carb icing or too cold? I built a 1" 4 hole with a coolant passage in case I run into carb ice.

I would suggest you run like 0/30 synthetic in that baby! We have these Herman Nelson heaters where the Honda engine runs in the wind tunnel. Anything heavier than 0/30 and the thick oil pukes itself out the valve cover. My company maintains I run 15/40 regardless so we lost some engines last week. Perkins!

Sorry this is a little off topic, but did diamondback make a bunch of boats for Gander Mnt? I was just wonderin if thats the same boat i saw sittin outside of their store in Orlando.

I worked for a Honda dealer years ago when they were trying to break into the snow blower market . The first units the produced just would not start in the cold. At their cold research lab the answer they came up with was Shell Arctic 0W30 . I'l contact Diamond back ,see what they put in the engine , and how they feel about Castrol Synthec 0w30 . Thanks for the idea .

This is the boat that was at the Gander store in lake Marry . With some great cooperation from Fran and the crew at Diamond Back and Mike Hankins at Gander the boat was made ready quickly for the four day trip to Canada . I can't saw enough goods things about Diamond Back they were very professional .
As for as I know this was the only boat Gander had made . It is supposed to be on a segment of the We Live Outdoors TV show that Gander produces.

that looks like fun but there aint enough clothes for me to do it  well least you cant sink it this time off year , have fun bob and be careful after the thaw 8)
