Rear main seal. 2 piece

Do I need to pull the prop and flex plate to change the rear main seal on a sbc with the 2 piece seal. Never worked on a chevy motor before so this is all new to me. can I leave the motor in the boat? It leaks a little so I"ll probably go ahead and change it soon before it gets worse.

No you just have to get the pan off. Remove the oil pump and the rear main cap then you have access to the seal. Not to bad of a job if you can get at it. Good luck

NorthWest, FelPro has a new gasket that is one piece .... lower seal on both ends and both pan rails, all molded into one.
I highly recommend that you use one of them when you replace your oil pan. They work great.

I changed it. It was real easy thanks guys. no more leaky.
