Remagnetizing armatures.

I've been at this set of trades for 38 years, build them from ground up from raw material, build, rigging, engines, trailers, all of the likes,,, here is my snafu, been building magnetos as well for about the same period of time,, how in hades do you "re magnetize" a magneto armature?

John,

This is where we all miss GMAC76 for sure☹️

Sounds like you are itching for a science project, cause I've never tried it either. Are we talking something like this? It takes permanent magnets or DC coils to magnetize.

Appreciate the reply!
I've been thinking "insert smoke from ears here" about starter field coils, build a fixture for them and the armature, add the power to them, after all they run on N/S magnetism.
Got a few to recharge, not even "or barely" feeling the poles lock in to the fields, should throw a thick blue spark by hand rotation to the case but not the ones I have at this time, will update on the "science project" as it happens.
Just another "trade" to add to the list.

Hey John.
Here is a pretty good write-up on remagnetizing weak magnets. You need a Neodymium magnet, which can be purchased easily.
