rigging question

I have read most every post on here but this is my first. I have a 12'6 x 7' cotton mouth hull no polly and I want to power it with a 350 and gear box. I was hoping there was maybe a couple of people out there that have done this setup or maybe even running it that would offer up some pro's and con's

This was my 2 nd boat and it was 11ft 7" by 7.4 and was 26" deep had a 350 and a gear box 12 ft is a little small but it will work and will sink alot easier
