just wondering i have an aluminum 3\4 deck charlie jones ...would rino lining be to heavy im not sure how much wieght it would add and would it be worth it

If you look at my pictures in my members section you see where I've put a rubber liner on my deck and side runners here is the web site I got it from.
http://www.durabakcompany.com/

It worked good and was easy. I used the roller but the spray would be better

There are the really good ones like Rhino and others that promote a picup bed coating that are more enexpensive as wel las the rockerguard stuff that works almost as well for aborut $10.00 qt. Some are 2 part and some arn't . They sell a spray gun for about $12.00 that screws on top of the can and at about 40 psi they work real nice, schlots gun or something like that.

Helimech,

Rhino lining goes on pretty thick (approx. 1/4"), so it would probably add quite a bit of weight, but there is another company called Line-X that puts on spay-in liners that is a lot thinner and works great. I had them put a liner in my pickup the first week I owned it, and now 5 years later it's still in perfect shape.

A buddy had Line-X spray the inside of his old Grumman riveted canoe a couple of years ago and that also worked out good ...... didn't add much weight, the boat is a lot quieter, and no more leaks.

A friend of mine don the rhino liner to the inside of his airboat one year ago and it is pealing off and looks real bad right now --They done all of the recommended prep work ---plus it did add considerable weight to the boat.

I'm with Ron on this one. We did some boats with Rhino Liner and it didn't take long to look like crap and even peeled in some areas. It is heavy and there are much better alternatives.
Good Luck

Line X and Rhino are slipery when wet and Line X is almost like sand paper. Have used a glue on product called Aqua Turf advertised in the LA Sportsman magazine. On my boat now for 6 years. Very soft non skid, very light weight, durable, the wetter it gets the more non skid it gets. If anybody gets the mgazine...maybe they can look it up.

Yea I get the La. Sportsman, and as soon as I get thru with it, it gets passed around. I'll check out my next issue. Thanx

thanks guys i checked durabak looks great but wondering how far a gallon goes i want to do the entire inside of the boat

HEY Cajun... Durabank is what I used on my deck, go check out the web site. You can roll it or spray it and it's not heavy. I would tell you to come over and look at it but my boat is up at Floral City Airboat should have it back next week sometime,

I purchased a gallon and did my deck then my siderails with about a 1/4 left here is a pic after deck but before siderails

I would spray it and I would say2-3 gallons[/img]

I remember, didn't I comment on it while I was over there? That turned out really well. Thanx
