Rita vs. TX Marsh

You Floridians oughta see this marsh down here now. Everything is/was completely flooded. You could launch an airboat at Hw 73 and ride all the way to the intercoastal canal. You guys would love it. My current airboat is disassembled now so I can't do it. The influx of saltwater killed a lot of crappy grass and also flushed out the silt and mud rafts. Rita has turned our marsh around. We are seeing a good number of teal, pintail and specklebellies.

Just FYI, the damage to the area was not near as bad as the TV made it out to be. 90% of Port Arthur had minor roof damage but falling trees did some corruption. Luckily my house and duck camp on the bayou are in decent shape.......

Mood It's only a disaster when there are people or structures involved the rest is natural occurance.
