Rode the Moore Haven canal out to the Monkey Box this weekend..BOLO on a few good size rocks closer to the side than the middle of the canal about half way up. Watch that black mud it's sticky and will grab you and want to spin your boat if your half on half off it. Besides a few dry runs here and there, getting out to the lake was pretty easy.

I rode with a group of boats on Saturday from Harney Pond canal to the Taylor Creek control structure. Spent a little time watching the de-mucking crew abandon attempts to rescue the sunken track hoe and off road dump truck that just may become a permanent part of the lake around Buckhead Ridge. The lighter sand/clay mix will stick you quick if you come to a complete stop. A little movement and it's like being on ice. A complete stop and it's like super glue until you can shake a little movement in the hull. I don't know how far we went total but I made it back to the Harney Pond canal entrance before having to add a few gallons to get me on to the boat ramp. It was like a barren desert out there with several inches of water as far as you can see.
