Spooled, just last night I came across a site where a pilot building his own two place composite airplane had used the mazda rx7 rotory motor and had the same issue. He couldn't find a reasonable drive. Long story short, he put the mazda automotive tranny back on the motor and locked it permenent in 2nd gear. A tranny after all is a multi level redution drive. They say he has over 500 hours on the plane with no failures. I'll try and backtrack my search last night and find the site again, if I find it I'll post it here.
