Rotax Engines

I have never run one in a Airboat but I have in Airplanes and they have lots of power especially the dual carb models and they are very reliable and I have been told that they do sell a non airworthy version that is a lot less money than the ones for Aircraft use

Airhead
I have had 2 of them at different times with the 503, they worked pretty good for 1-2 people on some of the small rivers I run up here in Alaska,

Someone was making a fiberglass hull that was about 10 foot long with a rotex motor in it. Two men could pick the thing up from a pickup bed and unload it and load it back. It would run dry short grass (looked awesome on a lawn or golf course) and some grass that was 10-12 inches tall with a little water in it. You would have to pick your route.

One of the duck camps around here had one, and it was a screaming demon in skinny water. Scared the heck out of the other hunters running go-devils as it blew by.

I thought the motor was less than 500 cc, but could be wrong. A buddy that owned several ultralights looked at it several times. He said he didn't think is was a 503. The owner was never there at the camp and the rest of the guys didn't know anything.

Thought it was called a mosquito. Probably wrong about that name.
