Rudder Stick Bushings

So Chris at Dakopta Airboats was nice enough to pick mine up. He asked what size, I said 1". Now last night I went to mate the rudder stick to the bushings and guess what. 1" EMT dont fit in 1" bushings. Whats my option? New Bushings or is there such thing as a tube that is in fact 1" OD??????? Im guessing the new stick of something will be cheeper than new bushings.

The standard hole saw size for 3/4" EMT is 1-1/8". I have been looking for larger bushings. Some are listed in ID and some are listed in OD. I know electrical conduit (EMT) is sold as ID.

How is DOM pipe sold? ID or OD?

This is the last thing before paint on this boat. Rudders and teleflex is on I just need to finish the rudder stick. Maybe Sunday of I can find anything before that. I know I can make a sheath for a 3/4" rudder stick from the 1" and just work it down til it fits, but then it looks like a patch.

T21065 DOM Seamless Structural Round Steel Tube 1 OD x .065 wall x .870 ID

I bet I can find that in town here sommers now that I know what to ask for. Thanks for the site man, that helped big time !

Scotty, go down to Smitty's welding On US#1 there in the hood
JD has a pretty good scrap pile in the back to pick trough and
usually wont charge more than a couple of bucks for a scrap piece.

Thanks Chris, I meant to get a note of thanks on here sooner but my twins 40th BD was today and we been BBQing and piggin out all day !

Chris saved the day. Folks never throw scrap away, some do-it-your-selfer like me will sooner or later come begging or looking and you too can be the hero of the day !

What is the largest bushings you can get for stainless tubbing and where can I get them?

Chris can you get them?

With this Caddy and large prop my stick is a little spongy.
