I know this is a stupid question, but can someone explain what is meant by "run the hill" when refering to an airboat?

Running the hill is a "term" used when an airboat runs dry ground.Meaning when you leave the water you can run on dry ground, does not mean there is always a "hill" but that's what it means.And if you have enough power you can make it to the top of the hill if there really is a hill!!
