running dry

I have a 05' Diamondback w/a zz4 350/355hp chevy v-8 w/a Sensnich 2 blade carbon-fiber prop. The boat is 14'x8' in dimesion and has polymer. It also has ss rigging, and I was what can I do to make it run the ground better? Is this possible? I was thinking of going to a 3 blade prop. Would this help me (more thrust than a 2 blade)? Can anybody give me any info? The boat does pretty good now on the ground, but I got hung up on the shoreline of lake kissimmee in a place that I didn't think would stop the boat and it did. Now I'm in the hunt for what will make it better. Any info. would be appreciated.

Well, first off...this time of year Kissimmee can fool you. Are you sure you shouldn't have gotten hung up? The green sticky stuff is thick right now and if you get up on mud bank or a floating tussuck, just about any boat can get hung.

Very true!! Lake Kissimmee has sent a many boat owners back to the drawing board to create more power and lighter boats only to come back and suffer the same consquences. Trust me this past hunting season I was on a floater and It took 1 hour and a half a tank of gas. One green horn that was with me thought he would jump off and help push!! Sunk up to his waist!! I think he's still there.

Yea, love those rookies faces when they jump out thinking it is the lack of water depth that stopped the boat. Some never figure out that you can get stuck in water that is way over ankle deep.

May Madness on Kissimmee. Lots of folks stopped short at the Milk Bus and other places this past weekend and quickly found out the lake edge is the stickiest spot. Most of the boats jumped past the edge and spun on the ridge just shoreward of it. Relaunching was much easier under the oaks than at the muck line.

Good rule of thumb, "If it is black and looks dry, don't even try it."

The easiest fix for a boat that wants to pull dry ground but is maybe just short of doing it easily is a soaper system. It is cheap and effective, specially for poly bottoms. Bobby Fleckinger can fix you right up with one, or you can put one together yourself.

Lake Kissimmee is one mean momma. The first time I ran over there I was in my combee hull with polymer and man there is some black glue there and it looks just like the owl snot cant tell till you get in it. The floaters are really bad looks good till you hit it then you sink down a little as soon as you lift on the throttle and thats all she wrote. The mat was about 12" thick and the water was about 4' deep under it made pushin it real difficult I burned some serious gas gettin loose from that stuff.

About the sprayer system dose any one know if it is illegal to use it. I've been told by (some friends) don't get cought but if you use water what would it hurt. I've been stuck is that new green grass and it's like glue but if I could have got it wet It would have move alot easer.

If you are after a little mor power this is what waterthunder advised me to do I expected a little and got a lot more than I hoped for it was very good advice first I put a MSD distributor on and installed a spring kit where the motor goes to full advance at 2000 rpm I also found out that the back two barrels of the 750 holley were not comming open because the motor was only turning 4900 at the time I fixed that with a holley diaphram spring kit and the I put some Crane 1.6 roler rockers on the motor and Wow what a differance I picked up 200 more rpm's and a lot more power. I have all most the same boat you have mine is a 14x7.5 Diamondback with a ZZ4 2 to 1 belt drive and a two blade power shift and there is enough people on this webb sit that has seen or heard about my boat to tell you it runs very well but one thing to remember all the hp in the world won't help you if you use bad judgement and get on the wrong surface.

My new boat runs dry well but I know there will be a time that I could use a little more, been stuck before and don't want to get into trouble for running a sprayer system. would like to know the answer????

Sprayer systems are completely legal and have proven affective for many years. However, if you put diesel in the system - it becomes an intentional oil spill and a major fine is at hand.

Use peanut oil and water and watch it work. Biodegradable.

Far as I know, dish soap is the most popular legal solution for sprayer systems. Add some peanut oil and it gets much slippreier.

Cheater tank with two or three sprayers, joy soap and peanut oil and your off and running.

i dont care what kinda boat or how much power you got at some point you wil get stuck all you can do is plain ahead ive mounted those aftermarket winsheld wiper jets on the bow of my boat (didnt hook up the lights thow :) ) i use a water baseed silicon (for tires) and frum what ive herd its ligel ive only been stuck a few times. but trust me this set up has helped me every time
