SARNO CLOSED?

Waterthunder

Well-known member
Well we all new it was a matter of time. I have heard from a Sheriff and other people. That parts of both sides of Sarno road will be closed to the public. Not because of all the trash and junk people are leaving and not because of all the partying but the same reason as always. I was told an off roader hit an abandon tire and was seriously hurt and is now suing the owners. Can't say I blame the owners because of all the trash, and today's sue everybody mentality. Because I'm stupid and hurt myself on your property so I'm going to sue you! Anyway the law is being respectful and warning people of whats comming. Any way remember it is private property and the Sherriffs will start charging people with trespassing I'm sure it will involve partying, off roading and launching Airboats!

thunder, aren`t the canals owned by st.johns? And the road is owned by the county. If so as long as you just launch and run straight out to the lake you should be fine. But that is a load of crap!! If you are stupid and get hurt be a man and live with it,don`t make every body else suffer for your stupidity!!!!! If anybody knows this person smack them like the little bitch they are

Same reason sanctioned airboat racing has died! Every time somebody wrecks they sue or somebody in their family sues! Anyway the majority of the flats are private property so I'm sure things will change especially after somebody has to settle out of court for a few million!

We were told several weeks back that we were not supposed to launch from there but the officers never said anything because there was never a problem. But suing over hitting a tire, come on, if you have ever ridden out there at Sarno, you know you are bound to hit some trash. That is like trying to sue the St. Johns if I hurt my boat pulling up on dry ground. Come on people.

I hit a fence post on the St. Johns but lawsuit never came to mind. I was thinking more about what I should have done different to avoid the incident and whether or not Stan really thought I was a manatee before pulling me on board.

JD, I was going to attach a piece of PVC to that fence post so folks would Know where it was when the water came up. When the water is down someone could always use it to get their boat unstuck. :toothy10:

Im thinking there might be a case for a prescriptive easement at Sarno Extension.

Any attorneys in the crowd?

Scotty
