Sarno race track

The grass is much better at sarno now. I made three passes today and it will be a fast track. We could use some rain but as long as the water doesn’t drop much me we should be alright.

I- 4 to orlando east on 192 to I-95 go north one exit get off go west boom ! youll see a big flea market on your left .Rite at the exit !It mite be two exits but i think its one ! exit 183 !

I made up a quick map.... to give an idea. All I know is to drive to the end of the road.

For me, aerial picture is worth 1000 words of directions.

I don't see much parking for cars/trailers. But I've never been there in person.

Looks like a super easy ride there from Camp Holly. Heck, it may get you there faster!

If anyone sees a discrepancy in this map let me know and I'll fix it.

This is the lower right corner of my Melbourne North map.

Sorry about the oversize picture bumping this thread out of proportion!!!! Dang aerials are not much use when they are small. :)

Okay Dakota what are the way's a person can observe the races ,by water or land ? Also It looks like a good opertunity to check out the frog sitiation whilest I am in the area.

You can observe from the water and the land. If you drive up in your boat and come to say get some refreshments, they may or may not get you and have you pay the admission. Just be aware. But there has always been people watching the races from the water. We are planning a ride afterwards so be ready. I wouls say the best place to launch from is Lake Washington. If you look on that map Mat posted you can see the canals that come off of the lake into where to races are. If for some reason you get lost please, most of you have our number, we will come and find you.

Thanks Dakota, Also I Would realy like to pay admission just my way of supporting the effort.

Looks like Stan and I will be there, and even if we watch from the wate rwe will not mind paying admission. That was one big gripe when they had the races at thomas landing ... everyone came by boat ... then wanted to walk on shore and watch and use the facilities. It was so bad they said they would never have them there again, claim they lost money on them. I dunno I am just repeating what ms.Betty told me from thomas landing.

Made a few changes to ride sled last night now it will be the opposite of what I ran for the sound completion. I have been hearing this will be a big shin dig lot's of racer's are coming out should be a great show.

I wish my boat was gonna be ready. But im just picking the motor up sunday, so it will be a while before its on the water... Have 2 sets of metalwork to build before i can start mine. Hope yall have fun! see yall soon!

Matt if you put in at camp Holly don't you have to go under the bridge which can be tricky if the waters moving. Can't remember if there's a launch on the north side of 192. :?

Dang Aces.... after a year and a half We'll finally get to meet face to face??!!!?/ Glad you are coming!!!

The ramp at Camp Holly is not in a bad current area. In fact, there is no
really bad current areas on that rver except maybe around some of the little
dams and bypasses.

I've never gone under the bridge there, but I've been next to it. Easy current conditions.

The St. Johns is one of the "laziest rivers" in the world. The kissimmee river
has more current than the St. Johns for sure. If there is a breeze, you'll
probably have more wind issues than current issues.

There are no launches on the north side of 192 that I know of. Sarno Extention is the next north launch place.

There is the Brevard Air and Powerboat Assn launch in the photo....
(Approx under the red 9 of Hwy 192) but especially that day, it'll be for
members, and even then, they have limited parking, so it'll probably fill
fast with their members.

SEE YOU THERE!!!!!! :D

they have put a new bridge in next to camp holly.so there is no clearance trouble anymore. ther is a current in the st.johns.i would not say it is a lazy river.some years back a man sank his boat at the bridge.i belive he got his wife and kids to shore, but him and his dad died.they could not find them for a couple of days.they ended up in lake washington. so i would say there is a pretty good curent in the st. johns.

Hey Dave ! It just dawned on me. This is the perfect chance to have the entire airboating world stop by and see your nice place on the canal, meet your neighbors (ahem) and wish ya well.

Call the SO ahead of time and have them in place before hand.

This could be a real problem solver as well as a great race day !

SCOTTY :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hey the north launch would be Lake Washington. That is the launch area closest there. Yes you do have to go under the bridge at camp holly and right now it is not too bad at all. I know there is a current there but nothing that bad. It is alot of clearance since they fixed the bridge and yes a few years back a guy actually got his dad and his son to shore but he did not make it. He was a brother of someone who owns a local company here. But anyway, there are several canals that take you into the race area from either place. If anyone has any questions please call me.

I believe you can run down there from Lk. Florance in less than an
hour and there should be lots of room for parking.

will any one from here be selling t-shirts at the race??
I'm going and am looking foreward to meeting people from this site, it should be a great day for racing
