Thunder why you so paranoid about posting races?? I was at the last one at lake george and the FWC was there and they were more interested in busting speeding bass boats in the 35mph zone than bothering racers. They have commented racing is not against the law. They checked out the event while the course was being setup and asked for the person who was sponsoring it so to speak and all they did was advise him that in the event of a death or serious injury he could be held liable by a lawsuit.
They wrote a few tickets for improper/lack of hull numbers, I think one for no mufflers I don't know of anyone busted for BUI or harrassed about it. They watched some of the runs but went off to write tickets to bass boats which I thought was a good thing.
I guess in the past there have been instances of harrassment ... seems like ya'll posted about multiple stops for safety checks, and the guy who wrecked his boat got a ticket for careless operation or something. but that was over in the kissimmee area wasn't it?
Seems to me the FWC in the lake george area is pretty fair about things, I get harrassed much less in that area than I do in south floridawhen i am just fishing. I would say if your numbers are on your hull, and your mufflers are in place, and after oct. 7th your flag is flyin 10' above the bottom of your boat, and you have all your pfd's on board and other stuff that is required you should be good to go with the FWC on lake george anyways.
But the bad news about lake george is the water is coming up a little and the really fast skinny water on the hard bottom is harder to find. There are races up there almost every weekend just like at kissimmee. it really aint no big deal. but then I have mufflers and hull numbers and pfd's which I know you do also. just was wondering
