Should I get these heads?

My current sbc heads are 76cc chamber models #462264 and my engine has 9:1 comp. ratio. A friend has some old 305 heads (70's model) with small valves (unsure as to the valve actual size) and a 60cc chamber. Will these heads be worth putting on or will the smaller valves work against me. Is the 60cc chamber going to put me into detonation? I currently don't have a problem with detonation but I would like more power if these will safley do it. I can get these for next to nothing but I don't want to get them if they won't work for me. Thanks

I used to run a 350 with 305 heads. Made lots of torque but I had to run sunoco purple 108 octane in order to dial in enough timing advance. Power curve dropped fast after 5000 rpm. Even with pump premium, it didn't run well. The cam had plenty of overlap to help with cyl pressures. Pistons were double eyebrow flat-tops. Those heads produce alot of squeeze.
You're gonna have to burn high octane fuel = big bucks. Good luck.
