Slick Bottom Alternative?

Has anyone ever seen anyone running a fiberglass hull with Enron(spelling?) paint instead of a traditional slick bottom? I talked with a guy over here in Winter Haven that says he used to run this stuff and that it is better than slick bottom. He claims it is slicker and more durable. I was wondering if anybody had any experience or knowledge of the stuff.

Are you talking about Imron? That is a paint you can buy lots of places, mainly used on boats and hulls. It is not a thick coating like steelflex, and probably would not last half a season. Steelflex is only around $130 and Imron is probably close to that price and 1/10 as thick.
Imron is used to paint boats not to be used as a bottom protectant or slick bottom. Just my 2 cents.....

Imron is a very hard paint that is only as good as the primer you use. make sure it is an etching primer for best results. it looks great and will last for years on everything but the bottom. steelflex is your best bet

The other Guys are right.I have been Painting since I was 15 years old Cars, boats,Aircraft and Imron would not last long on the bottem it is a Top coat Only and there is paint out there that is far better than Imron
Ditzler paint is much better depending on what level of it you get it is made by PPG INDUSTRIES.They have great Cammo paint also for any one that wants cammo on there boat,It's what I have on my boat and it will last for years.

Does anyone know who mfg's steel flex or anything to use on the bottom of a aluminum boat for slickness?
