Airboats Unlimited in Bainbridge, Ga. builds and sells one of the finest small airboats anywhere. They have in stock 14ft with a VANGUARD 31hp that will run 25mph in deep water. They are coming with the new 38hp in 2 weeks. I know because I have one and love it. Give them a call 1-229-246-5760

I've seen the ones in Bainbridge. You've just got to see Paul Dixon's attention to detail to appreciate it. If a small rig is what you're looking for I'd make a trip up there. He used to do alot of the "go devils" but there's more interest in small air rigs now. I personally prefer the 0540's he builds.

Harvey,

I hope you might consider encouraging Mr. Dixon and Airboats Unlimited to come to River Ranch Resort in late April for the FAA Airboat Whoop Tee Do and display his wares. Little doubt, it will be the largest gathering of airboats and airboaters ever.

I'll be glad to tell him about it. I may try to come myself. Mr. Dixon only does one show a year as far as I know--- the sunbelt expo in Moultrie, GA. I think he has all the work he can do. I ordered a boat from him a few weeks ago. He almost builds the whole boat himself and you'd just have to see it to believe the craftsmanship. He uses Journigan engines. If its ready in time I may go to Tampa for that run--- if they are running short on volunteers--- its so far for me.

Happy Trails,
Harvey

Does anyone know if and when their might be any races at Eridu this year?
Also about Paul Dixon, he is one of the legends in airboating. He is 69 this year and like all of us older birds he has slowed down in going to all the shows, but if you want a precision boat he is the man. When he builds it, it can't be built better. slow henry

We are building "small rigs" here in Bainbridge, GA. We are utilizing the v-twin style engines, 31-35hp. This hulls are standard airboat hulls 14'x7' and 16'x7'. These boats are operated just like the fullsize boats - no difference. We are currently working on a webpage, but in the meantime, if you'll send us your address, we'll gladly send you a picture. Give us a call or come see us...!

Hey Carol Dixon,
Can you upload a photo or two to the member galleries?
I would love to see what your boats look like.

Carol, Are your hulls fiberglass or aluminum? Is there a standard seating or are there options. I would like to see a 35 HP boat with rear driver and front passenger on an aluminum hull.

We have both Fiberglass and Aluminum.Right now we are only putting the motors on a Fibergalss boat.Standard seating is rear operator and front passenger. But there are options as well.Stick steering just like the big airboats, airfoil rudders ect.If you will send me an e-mail addy I will send you some photos from my Kodak file.I do not have my web site finished as of yet so I cannot send any photos to the Southern airboat site.

Carol, What is the average price of a small boat. I would like one built on aluminum though. Is it foot throttle? Could the driver seat be set up a lil high on a platform with pedal throttle?

REDRIVERMINIS custom airboat:14'x 48''every boat is custom made to order.. airboats are designed and built for any need

RJ just curious do you have any experience with these boats or did you just post the photo from airboat trader. I'm haveing Bobby build a 14X60 for me right now.

I just posted it from Airboat Trader.
I did run a 12x7 aluminum airboat hull with a 65 hp Rotax built in Chalmette, La. It was built back then by Tim's Marine m( about 15-17 years ago). The two owners have since split up and the builder Co. is now called Custom Boats (504) 683-3567. The owners name is Tim George. The boat was all aluminum, rigging and hull. They also built aluminum bolt-ons for john/flat boats with 46 and 65 hp that worked great. He is a quality builder of all types of small aluminum boats. He's been building boats for over 20 years.

Diamondback is got a small rig in the works from what Bobby told me it is going to be 11ft x6ft and it will have a Mazda Rotery engine with a reduction drive on it.I don't know what the HP will be on the motor but I do know that rotery engines are small, light weight and produce a lot of power for there size and they are reliable.
