Soft drive

I purchased a used ballistic gear drive it has the soft drive plate on it with the bushings . Do the bushings free float in the plate and bolt to the flex plate I can’t seem to find a picture of it and they do not answer the phone

I am not a Ballistic owner but have been around drives. Give Shane a day or two to answer in the past he has been super busy.

So looking at other drives for an example.

The Rotator and Torque drives use a soft drive plate in which the bushings are captured in the plate. They are not user replaceable.

Stinger uses rubber or poly bushing system that the user does replace. I have seen two different colors of bushings that are alternated when installed. They just push in and from what I have seen. The one color is softer than the other and requires replacement more frequently in that system.

Ballistic has a web site with drive installation instructions but soft drive info is not included.

Biggest issue installing a drive is to make sure there is no pressure or interference between the drive and the flex plate. This includes the hardware such as bolt heads making contact.

Ballistic recommend a JW Flex plate and caution against use of another due to alignment.

Appears they need 32 oz of either Amsoil or Lucas 75-140 or 85-140 gear oil and advise only those specific brands due to testing and foaming concerns.
