I WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPEN TO OUR SOUND DEAL ! MY UNDERSTANDING SOME COUNTIES ARE DOING A STUDY ON 85 @ 50 FT ! WHICH WILL BE PRETTY EASY TO PASS THEY SAY !I WAS WONDERING WHY DIDNT WE DO THE 90@ 50 FT! JUST TO GIVE US A NUMBER THAT WE COULD LIVE WITH !MY UNDERSTANDING THEY ARE DOING A STUDY IN GAINSVILLE THAT WILL SET A STANDARD FOR THE REST OF THE STATE ! MOST PEOPLE SAY WE ARE JUST LETTING IT RIDE ! JUST WONDERING WHAT REALLY GOING ON ! NEVER HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT IT ANY MORE !ITS A BIG ISSUE WITH US SEEMS NOBODY DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT !OR WE ARE NOT HEARING ABOUT IT ANYWAY ! I JUST DONT HERE ANY THING GOING ON NOW !SORT OF WORRIES ME !I CAN MEET 90@ 50 FT NOW ! BUT 85 ! :D
 
Fatboy, that sound issue reminds me of the 10' gator that was keeping us company while we were pulling T-Rex's boat from the canal last week. As long as she was on the surface we could be mindfull of her...as soon as she went under, that's when you worry.
The danger's still lurking, you just gotta see where it's gonna pop up.
 
Oh, it's going to pop up. I hope some plans are prepared to deal with it BEFORE it hits. Act rather than react. Unfortunately, I think many leaders in the airboat community have their heads in the sand on the issue hoping it will go away...........

Senator Ulrich (former sheriff of Alachua county & anti airboater) will be proposing a very low vessel sound level in 08, something similar to California's (Arnold & Charlie?) 75 dB @ 50'. Hopefully, the proposal will be viewed as unreasonable by the legislature and other boating groups. (hopefully) If it's viewed as reasonable, as in the major environmental group$$ get behind it, (Crist is appearing green) you can count on problems.
