HEY IF MY PLUGS SHOWING TOO MUCH TIMING !BUT EGT COOL DOWN WITH MORE TIMING ! GO WITH MY PLUGS OR MY EGT OR SPIT THE DIFFERENCE ! I NEED TO FATIN IT UP A LITTLE BUT PRETTY GOOD BURN COLOR .MY MSD IS SORT OF MAKING IT HARD TO COLOR! FUEL RING IS FAIRLY COLORED ! I GOT THE NKGS IN THERE !BUT MIDRANGE IS SORT OF NOTICABLE BUT CLEAN !AND WHILE WE ARE ON THIS DEAL ! MY CARB ONE SIDE IS STARTING SLOWER THAN THE OTHER . WHEN COMING OFF THE IDLE CIRCUITS MAIN AIR BLEEDS ARE THE SAME !JUST TIRED OF GUESSING ! JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY KB S HAPPY !THANKS !
 
Ive heard that half a prop is the most effecient,just kinda wobbly! :shock: . Will my 80" prop fit your cage Tom, Im not using it right now :( .
 
Fat Boy....Advancing the timing is bringing the EGTs down because when the timing is retarded with a rich mixture, you have flame coming out the exhaust giving a false reading to the sensor. This is why I hate for people to rely on EGTs. The plug tells the whole story. Mixture and timing go hand in hand. Advancing will act like it's leaner, and too rich will act like it's retarded etc. It's something that has to be crept up on. I like to see people start with a good base timing and then work out the jetting. I see so many people brag about how they know how to time thrir stuff and adding more and more advance...The minute I hear that I know the carb is fatter than a pig. Same goes for the other direction. Sounds like you have a decent handle on what you're doing, just ignore the EGTs a little and don't start movin the timing around to compensate the jetting and you'll have it on kill B4 you know it. JMO

Good info Mike, Something Fatboys carb is doing is the right hand booster is not flowing fuel until about 500 rpm's later than the left. He has the Proform body with holley metering plates. This may not be related to his problem but kinda confused me.
 
It does have alot more snap with the one blade but the vibration is bad. Negative on the 80. mine should be back soon.

very soon! im just now walking without crutches(barely), couple more weeks and ill be full steam on the barge, lots of time to make up for-just hope there is alittle water left- actually cant sink it without water ay? anyway :D

THANKS MIKE ! I REMEMBER ONE OF YOUR POST TALKING ABOUT THIS ! I DIDNT THINK DROPIN MY COMP FROM 10 TO 1 TO 9 TO 1 AND DROPIN MY LIFT FROM 540 TO 488 WOULD CHANGE THE JETTING THAT MUCH !I HAVE DROP DOWN FROM 87 T0 78 FUEL BILL CUT IN HALF ! LOSS A LITTLE ON TOP BUT FLATIN MY SUPER WIDE A LITTLE BROUGHT ME BACK TO WERE I WAS !I THINK A BETTER DEAL !THANKS I AM ALWAYS LISTENING ! :D
