spray mixture

It doesn’t matter.

A little dew on the ground really makes a big difference compared to long dry runs on a sunny day. Water in the sprayer does a fine job of making things wet (just like a little dew on the ground) and is all you (should) need.

Yes, you can feel that soapy water is a little slipperier than just water, but wet anything is a lot slipperier than dry anything. If you need a sprayer for anything more than just wetting it down a little to keep the friction down on a hot and sticky day, a sprayer won’t save you anyways!

As far as biodegradable goes, I would have to presume that it is.
Whoever is old enough to remember, will acknowledge that what put Dawn on the map (among a thousand others), was the film footage they used to make commercials of them washing the oil soaked wildlife in the wake of the Exon-Valdez disaster.

I'm pretty sure that would not have flown were it not biodegradable.

dawn is gentle on animals, but, it contains petroleum products as part of its formula.

it is technically not considered the same as a full biodegradable product.

The company that makes Dawn has talked about this a few times.

it's a great product and has saved many a bird and other animal in oil spill areas. However, unless you can find a biodegradable certification or something, it is likely not going to cover that check box.

I seem to remember a thread on this, and I could have swore there was a letter from an employee at St Johns or somewhere saying it was legal to have blue original dawn in the sprayer, but not 100% sure. I have ran it in my sprayer 1/2 bottle to 7 gals.

All good info. I sometimes have to dump the boat on dry cut grass and want to keep the effort down. I sprinkle the path with a hand weed sprayer

buy the cheap laundry detergent which is biodegradable like XTRA or usually the store brand. Its nice to get a blast of clean mountain freshness when driving around in the funky marsh anyway.

Ill usually mix it to like 10:1 - 5 gal water to 2 qt soap

From my dogs perspective, that would be equivalent to the tide pod up the nose challenge! They will think it's time for a bath and try to dig through my hull to hide vs. scenting for more game!

Yes soap makes a big difrence over plain water. A sprayer can make a 500 rpm difrence easily. I have run them for years. You should only use it to get To not getting out of the water. Its the crap the grass has gotten hot and all my gear is loaded its sunday afternoon and it time to go home.
