spray question

well I've had the boat out a couple times now ..at first it plowed really bad ..i leveled the engine to the center stringer helped immensely then talked to a guy that had a similar hull that plowed he had me bend the back of the boat up a little went home and tried to get the hook out ..little better then i moved the gas tank to the back of the boat ...water is far back on plan with no porpus untill i turn then the corner diggs and sprays my passenger. the boat has new poly and no jacks running out of things to try

Was there a point where it was doing good then when ya changed ONE more thing it started this porpoise and spray in a turn? Sounds like you may have done more than one thing between trials and lost which one it needed.

Also, it sounds like you have dome all the right things, you may have just gone too far on something.

Scotty

its been getting better but its still not their it seems to ride fine now but will still dig in the turns i dont have any porpus ..never did feels like it is still riding on the nose to much

Ok, you said you leveled the engine, next at this point I would try raising the rear of the engine a half bubble then a whole bubble. Your getting close.

Scotty

give us some history on boat.......hull....engine,box,prop, what was recently changed from old set-up etc-etc . in other words if this is not a new set up and the old set up rode fine - what are all the upgrades you made ??

my boat got re-rigged and it was plowing real bad, raised rear of engine up an inch and a half from level, its alot better.......anyway alot of us could benefit from this info so as much details as possible please!

alot of very knowledgeable people lurking around these parts so help is coming!!!

how is your boat running t-rex,have not seen ya post much in awhile and last picture we saw was you laughing and swimming in your boat.any updates.

lots of other things goin on in my neck of the woods and haven't been able to spend any time working on the barge-no need to bore the gang with all the BS....hopefully very soon i will be able to get the boat back into fun mode and see what happens next!!

I really missed you guys at the benefit ride, in my backyard and that i didn't make it....thats bumming me out hard, but at least i did get to meet UNDER PRESSURE!!!
with his baddazzz blower small block!! killer boat -congrats man and nice to meet you ! and fatboy were gonna have to get together soon.

anyway my prop got fully redone by waterwalker-one blade had to be replaced other three were able to be refinished so that was a good chunk of change , on another note SHARON from STINGER took the absolute best care of me a human could do, my own fault but with the prop i have i had chosen the incorrect gear ratio for prop speed, since i cant go over 5k rpm with my motor my prop was only seeing around 1800rpm.....which is fine if i had a sensenich SuperWide- but i don't, so my prop wasn't going fast enough, so she moved me over to a box that will get me into my target prop speed.

A BIG THANKS TO SHARON AND STINGER FOR YOUR UNPARALLELED CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! (and i'l call you soon)

so thanks for the inquiry bondsman and i will most definitely post when I'm out in the woods for sure with hopefully lots of good pics and fun stuff!!!
:D

i bought the boat and never took it out they said the rigging needed to be moved back ..i decided not to put it in the water because of the shape it was in. i believe it is a bear hull that has been partial decked i built the eng stand and changed the rigging moving everything back the boat is 12ft but seems heavy but runs dry like a raped ape plenty of power when i built the stand i had the eng tilted aft. after the first run i figured that out so i leveled the motor..i wasn't sure if i needed to keep going if that would solve my problem so i started tweak the hull and move stuff around ...anyway the boat runs pretty good now but at high speed when i put a turn in water spays forward and i have to get out of it so i don't get the old lady wet. my question is does it matter how high the rear of the motor is lifted above center or is level the way to go and need to look somewhere else. thanks Ross Quarno

Where your poly stops,is it blunt and square or is rounded and angled?Reason I ask is if you put new poly on and it is blunt that little edge will make you dig in a turn.

I have an old bear with a 0540, cant keep it from porpoising, does not nose over in a turn though, do get a little spray if boat is loaded down, but nothing that comes into rhe boat, do you like the poly, did you run it without,

just looked at poly and the sides have a little gap between the hull and edge but not much i rounded the aft edge at the transom but didnt do the sides they have a sharp angle maybe hittin it with the sander might help

on my last hull, when I installed poly I had the same problem. everything was setup the same nothing changed except frog spit to poly, nose was diving real bad so I jacked up the rear of the motor and fixed. Funny thing is that it fixed my porpoise problem so I thought great  within a couple rides everything went back to the way it was.
