Mr. Herky Huffman will soon term out on the Florida Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Commision. Mr. Huffman's dedication and passion to conserve Old Florida and it's heritage makes him a very appropriate candidate to serve on the St. Johns Water Management District Board. I urge all individuals and area clubs to write to Governor Crist in recommending Mr. Huffman. I have attached a sample letter, please feel free to tweek it. This is the letter I will be sending:

Congratulations on your election as governor.

In regard to St. Johns Water Management District Board appointment.

As a Floridian, I am naturally involved in the issues our great state faces in regard to conservation. I am recommending Mr. Herky Huffman be appointed to the board of the St. Johns Water Management District. I understand his term on The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is ending in a few months. I have followed his contributions of time and talent and am confident he will serve with continued passion and personal desire to conserve Old Florida for future generations.

Mr. Huffman understands the importance in providing the quality of life your administration seeks for all Floridians.

I sincerely hope you will share my confidence in Mr. Huffman and allow him to continue public service by appointing him to the St. Johns Water Management District board.

I think Herky Huffman is one of the finest friends to airboaters and our wild places to be found anywhere.
Y'all might remember that he ran his personal airboat at the Quiet Demo last May.

I urge all of you to takes a few minutes and write a letter to the new Governor in support of Mr. Huffman. We NEED him in that job.

Do yo have a deadline? When is it too late to send one? I'm asking because I plan of "evangelizing" to some non-airboating friends and getting them to write some letters too.
