A state agency on Wednesday voted to amend its standards for airboats and require mufflers, but the change won't be effective until after the public comments in workshops.
The seven-member Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which met in St. Petersburg, said it would also take public comment at the workshops on the Airboater's Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Courteous Airboat Operation.
A date has not been set for the workshops.
