State Airboat Sound Testing

This was passed along to me today:

Some of you may recall my statement that we would open up an opportunity for individuals (primarily geared toward manufacturers) to have their muffling devices for airboats put through sound level testing as a portion of the final phase of our sound testing project. This message is intended to advise you of the opportunity to do so. Next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7 and 8, the FAU researchers will be concluding sound level testing on the airboat powered by a Chevrolet 350 engine. The exact location of this testing has yet to be confirmed, but I know that it will occur near Lake Wales in central Florida, either on Lake Kissimmee or Lake Tiger. There will be an opportunity for a few individuals to install their muffling device or muffling system on the airboat and have sound level tests conducted. The data will then be made available by the researchers. I apologize for the short timeline, but the researchers have been quite busy with the final round of sound level testing, not to mention some issues with weather delays. I am asking that you pass this message on to association members or others you may know of who have developed mufflers or a muffling system for airboats. Anyone wishing to participate in this testing must respond back to me via email no later than Monday at noon so I can pass on additional information and assist with scheduling.
Thanks for your interest and support.
