I had the opertunity to go frogin with cntry and RoHo saturday night .After the cleaning was done it looked like 2 gallons of butter frog legs went to the freezer.Roho being quite the gigger allowed me to take my usual break from giggin with out losing any production along with cntry going back to the stealth mode on his boat we nearly double our usual low to no water average of legs.
Now to fill yu all in on the latest ,awhile back cntry took his 396 off to give it a break and mounted a 425 hp 383 bullet strocker crate motor with a 2.68 and 2 blade super wide on his boat with standard muffs.turnin it to 5000 rpm set on the number 2 mark ,tell you what it was loud, performance was good .top speed 49.4 miles per hour.Friday he change gear box to a 3.12 ,prop to a 4 blade super wide set at the 2 mark ,x pipe ,2 extra large stainless rv muffs and 2 glass packed muffs with turn downs exiting the rear .went out on the lake and it was realy nice to be able to talk and ride and to be able to sneak up on the frogs. The motor turned 5000 rpm and top speed was 49.5 miles per hour cept for twice when he hit patches of water hyacinths and the speed shot up to 54.2 instantly.
In conclusion the 2 blade with the 2.68 is much louder at 1865 prop rpm than the 4 blade behind the 3.12 is at 1602 prop rpm.and with all the mufflers and x pipe the boat did not sacrifice any preformance at all.ya half to take into consideration that both times the speed was checked the night time air was cool and the humidity was high which could effect the power out put of the engine.
