step hulls

I would think the steps are more of a one purpose hull but there are people who use them as every day boat

if you give some more details about what you expect to do and carry , an run we could probably give a better answer

going to be running all kinds of terrain.mostly lakes, istapogga, okeechobbe, kiss chain. some dry ground, some streches 1/8to1/4 mile.mostly shallow water, and always at least 2 people aboard.most of what i hear about step hulls is from people who own them, they wouldnt have anything else, but they have been around a long time and dont seem to be getting any more popular, was just wondering why? just becouse they are different? any comments app. thanks...

The chuck Hawk hull rides very smooth, no bouncing....lays down flat.......good front storage, great hull,,,,,,they are not a head busting, rock running tank though

step hulls are for speed with a smooth ride just as fast sideways as is forward good times though I love the one I used to have ,but don't even think of putting it on the hill

at our club, we had a airboat rodeo,,,,,go arround 4 markers, make a 180 and 4 on way back,,,,,,,,took me 1 min 15 sec,,,,,,,next closest 1min 46 sec....
over 100 mph on the high end as well....
im any kinda race, steps are trick...

step hulls will go anywhere you want, but only slick, and glass on the bottom....

I have been on many different styles of boats. The fastest I have ever been on the water was with a guy that decided to race the boat that Davie GSO480 has pictured above. The guy actually scared the $h1t out of me on that boat. 118mph was to fast for me. The step boat will handle the speed over a flat bottom aluminum boat as I am used to. Aluminum boats will go airborne before they can reach that speed. I have stood a few up. I have seen to many boats flip and a couple guys die. I learned to respect speed on an airboat.

i agree 100%,although im not new to speed in a boat,i am new to speed in an airboat. respect, comon sense, and seat time, should do wonders, actually i would not be buying the boat to be the fastest out there, becouse you know how that goes, i like the style of the boats, the size and i guess just to be different than most.
