What is the easiest way to get more power from a stock parallel valve 0540? Or what would have to be changed to get the most noticeable horsepower.
 
Continental's don't leak oil, the guys that have them are real nice and they're just making the trails easier for the car motor boats to follow them :P

Pull the cylinders and put a higher compression piston. That will give you the most dramatic difference. Outside of that you could have the cylinders flow matched, fuel injection, electronic ignition, nitrous. etc. Nothing makes power in a Lycoming like compression.
