Super Hiway

I'm thinking about launching at 50 and heading to Laugh-man's Lodge on Sunday morning. Anyone know if there is still water on the super hi-way? My boats pretty heavy and I hate having to horse it around when I run of water and the switch grass is about 10 feet tall.

I'm pretty sure the southern part (closest to 50) has water, but the northern part is about 18" above the waterline.

You MIGHT be able to make it to the first break and cut over to the east channel.

That's one of our possible routes for our wedding ride in a couple weeks.

Good luck - post what you see here.... we're going out there next week during the week. (putting in at Hwy 50)

Thanks Matt,

On Sunday we tried the super hiway but ran out of water, just pass where you can see the first big cypress stand on the main west river channel. We had to run a good ways before we found a spot wide enough to hoarse my boat around by hand and go back. All the way we were banging from side to side on the trail. Not fun. So we took the east channel to Bear Bluff, and as usual I got lost for a while. The USGS Christmas water level site says the depth is about 4.9 feet on the 50 bridge. So I'll be looking for about 6 feet of water at the bridge before I'll try the hiway again. We took the west channel back to the ramp with about 20 mph wind at our back. Had a great day.
