i bought a 2 blade 78inch sensenich superwide to go on my boat i did not want to change anything but prop. i have a 1.9 gearbox with a caddy and all i can say is 3 blades would have never worked with such a gearbox it is alot of prop i can only pitch it to a medium setting to get good rpm but does this thing pushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!it will start to break ground and move at 2100 engine rpm and will launch of the ground if i floor it.i do not think it is all that quiet but i have not been on the water with it yet.i am only posting this info on the site just in case someone else is planning on trying this and they can refferance this thread.if anyone has a specific question i will try and answer.but my opinion is 2.38 or bigger is needed unless you dont won't to change a whole set up.when i get a chance to hit the water i will add more to the post.

cool :D

how would you rate that two blade compared to your power shift three blade , how much more push on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the least difference

the 2 blade superwide blows my old 3 blade away with lower end and top end as far as on the ground is concerned.i imagine it will be the same on the water.as for the reference marks they are so off one blade is set on 3 the other on 1-1/2 but the angle finder says 16deg on both blades when i set it and then did a quick tracking of the blade.these blades fatboy will make my ears ring allitle at wot on the trailer but my 3 blade psr did not also the pitch angle was set the same as my old blades and i accualy come up 100 engine rpm less than with the 3 blade at wot on the trailer.

it was a 3 blade 78 inch psr blade from whirlwind they were 12 inch wide and a copy of the old powershift powerplus blades.

bonsman,I`ve been wondering if the switch was worth it.I have a 3 blade psr now with the 2.37 rotator,it`s alright but I want more.these blades made that much difference on ground? That's all I`m looking for. You highly recommend it?

can't make it tomorrow wished we could but the medication my daughter is on will make her extremly tired after alittle bit of playing it might be allitle to much for her so maybe a southern run in the future.joe i liked my psr blades but i wanted quieter for my kids i thought they pushed hard i could dry load with alittle bit of steam heading to the trailer and it climbed the hill pretty good.but now i can butt up against the trailer hit the gas and go right on it and fly up the hill.it really does push harder i move across the ground 900 engine rpm less than i did before and with 1 less blade.same pitch.

Maybe in a couple months i`ll be able to buy a set,But I blew up my boat tonight so I have to build a new motor first. :? OH WELL that`s airboatn :D

The 3 Blade PSR Whirl Wind is not a copy of the old Power Shift Power Plus Blades.
The PSR blades are a basic copy of a wood blade. Thats why they don't develop
the thrust that the Power Shift ( Water Walker) does. The Water Walker blades
have more cup in the blades than any other blade. This cup in the blade will develop
more trust than a blade with a straight helix.
The 2 Blade props, Sensenich Super Wide and Water Walker Maximus & Serius are
blades that should not be turned more than 2300 RPM. Higher RPM can cause the
these blades to start to delaminate and fail.
The 12 inch blades can handle 2600 RPM without failing and the 9 inch wide blades
can handle 3000 RPMs. These facts should be used when you determine how many RPMs you want to turn the engine and what ratio your reduction is going to be.
The Caddy Engine Turning 4000 RPMs with a 1.9 reduction will turn the Prop
2105 RPMs which is excellent for the 2 Blade Sensenich Super Wide and the Water Walker Maximus & Serius Blades.
Water Walker has a new 74 inch Maximus that works excellent for 230 HP to 375
with a 2.37, 2.38 gear on 4.3 V6 and SBC.

i can take a picture of my psr blades they are cupped towards the shank they are not just flat . and my 2 blade sensenich hits 4000 engine rpm on the trailer.so maybe it is ideal for what it is.

Bondsman glad to hear your boat is running so well. If it moves on dry ground @ 900rpms less than with the other blades sounds like you found the right combo. You have to be real happy with that. Cant wait to hear how she cruises on the water.

i apologize chuck for not believing you i went out and looked at the blades to take a picture and they barely have a cupped trailing edge and i can see how it resembles a wood blade.they were represented to me from whirlwind as a copy.john c yes it does well on the ground i can tap the gas and turn it .i used to have to hit 3000 engine rpm for the boat to start moving now 2100 engine rpm and she starts moving.happy so far. now when my daughter starts feeling better i will put in on the water and run it.
